Bourgogne Blanc can be well priced and it can be delicious, but it is rarely both. Chavy Chouet’s Bourgogne Blanc Les Femelottes is an exception. At just over £20 inc VAT, we think this is excellent value – especially for a wine that tastes like a baby Puligny. Our first batch sold out very quickly, so we have just replenished the cellars.
Les Femelottes is a single plot within the Puligny commune, adjoining the village vineyards. Current regulations allow growers to use fruit from as far afield as the Macon in Bourgogne Blanc – and many do. A wine from an individual terroir in the Cote d’Or, like this one, is something completely different.
