“one of the finest nonvintage bruts in Champagne” Peter Liem
“a Champagne that consistently overdelivers relative to its peers” Antonio Galloni
Cuvee 745 is the latest release of Jacquesson’s numbered NV series. Each cuvee is based on a different vintage, and the aim is to make the best and most expressive wine possible each year – rather than simply turn out a consistent product. The 700 series offers outstanding value for money, especially when compared to most of the grand marques.
The fruit is the key to the quality here. The majority of the grapes come from Jacquesson’s own vineyards in Grande Vallee and Cote des Blancs. Jean-Herve and Laurent Chiquet are long-term followers of organic principles and they always employ a strict selection procedure. Low yields and fermentation in large oak casks give depth and character to the wines. Cuvee 745 is based on the 2017 vintage and the low dosage (just 0.75g/l this year) allows the focus to remain on the fruit.
Jacquesson make top quality grower Champagnes that we rate highly, and Cuvee 745 is an excellent buy.
