Non vintage Champagne at market-beating prices

Non vintage wines from top Champagne houses are always a smart buy. Made by some of the region’s most skilful winemakers, they tend to be great value for the quality of the wine in the glass. Two of our favourite non vintage Champagnes are in stock now: Pol Roger and Louis Roederer. You will not find these cheaper anywhere else in the UK.

Pol Roger’s Brut Reserve, with its distinctive white label, is one of the best non vintage Champagnes. It comes from thirty base wines, and Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay each make up a third of the blend. The wine undergoes full malolactic fermentation before ageing for at least four years on the lees – an unusually long time for a non vintage wine. This is a Champagne that typifies the house style in its combination of richness and elegance.

Louis Roederer Brut Premier is known for structure and freshness. A large proportion of the grapes come from Roederer’s own vineyards, farmed organically since 2012 to give lower yields and greater concentration. The blend consists of 40% Pinot noir, 40% Chardonnay and 20% Pinot Meunier. The wine is vinified in large oak vessels and aged on the lees for a minimum of three years. This wine is known to age well in bottle, and our stock has had at least 18 months in bottle already.
