Familia Zuccardi

The Zuccardi estate lies in the Uco Valley, the highest viticultural area in Mendoza. The pronounced diurnal temperature variation here is ideal for Malbec and Chardonnay, giving wines with intense fruit and extraordinary freshness.

The top wines at Zuccardi are the single vineyard wines, or Vinos de Finca. The Zuccardis are champions of precision viticulture and painstakingly manage everything on a row by row basis. The aim is to express the exceptional terroir as precisely as possible.

Zuccardi‘s most famous single vineyard is Piedra Infinita (“infinite stones”), itself now divided into several parts: Supercal and Gravascal. The soil is here unique: it is covered in large granite stones and gravel, with some rocks weighing as much as 20 tons. Malbec thrives here. The wines are entirely fermented and aged in concrete vessels, giving purity of fruit and textural detail.

Zuccardi also make a single vineyard Chardonnay labelled Las Cuchillas from a cool climate site in San Pablo.
