Georges Noellat

Maxime Cheurlin, a descendant of the Jayer family, took over at Domaine Georges Noellat when has was just 20 years old, after a stage with Emmanuel Rouget. He immediately reversed his grandmother’s policy of selling everything to negociants and started bottling his own wines from his premises right in the centre of Vosne Romanee.

The results have been exciting. The domaine owns 6 hectares of land in highly regarded locations, and has some exceptionally old vines. They are over 90 years old in Vosne Beaumonts and over 100 years old in Echezeaux. In fact, almost all the domaine vines are over 50 years old. A small range of wines from bought-in fruit are also made under the label Maxime Cheurlin.
