Henri Bonneau

Henri Bonneau is one of the Rhone’s finest addresses.

The tiny, six hectare estate is renowned for its highly distinctive, explosively perfumed wines. They are the result of steadfastly traditional production methods. The fruit is harvested late and rarely de-stemmed. It is fermented in old concrete tanks before maturation for up to seven years in old oak barrels of varying sizes.

Reserve des Celestins is the domaine’s top wine and it is only made in the best vintages. It comes from the domaine’s best vines in La Crau, one of the top lieux-dits in Chateauneuf-du-Pape.

Cuvee Marie Beurrier, named after the wife of the late Henri, is made primarily from Grenache from across the domaine.

Not to be overlooked is the value pick Les Rouliers, a Grenache/Cinsault blend from several vintages, labelled as Vin de France.

The wines of Henri Bonneau are in a class of their own. They are aromatic, complex, and exceptionally ageworthy.
